I've never had problems with putts going off the green(except for extreme examples on specific holes and pin placements). Have any of your played Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational before, and if so, what were your thoughts on it? Also, on the docket are Mario Golf: World Tour, Everybody's Golf on PS4, and perhaps some other titles if I have time for them before Super Rush launches. I really want to replay We Love Golf, which recently got a really great video dedicated to it courtesy of Nintendo Life. I want to jump back into some other golf games leading up to Mario Golf: Super Rush, so I'll be making threads on those if anyone is interested in following along. That said, even a lackluster showing in the series is an above average round and game of golf, and Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational is one seriously good time on the links. It's probably my second least favorite of the Hot Shots Golf/Everybody's Golf line of games (with Out of Bounds on the PlayStation 3 being my least favorite coming off one of my favorite entries in the series, Hot Shots Golf Fore!). Otherwise I just get so frustrated and angry because the game is rather unforgiving (and I might be underselling that point here). I think World Invitational is a really enjoyable game, but I have to be in a happy mood to play it. That stinks, but it won't encourage my masochistic behavior to try to get the other trophies, such as getting all crowns in Challenge Mode (performed by not only completing each game's challenge, but by accomplishing specific secondary tasks, such as only putting once on each green, 100% par pace, 100% fairways hit, never hitting a bunker, completing a round with consecutive birdies, etc.). It's mighty frustrating!įortunately, I have no desire to go for the Platinum trophy, as for one, I can't get it as Sony shut down the tournament servers, so the one trophy that requires online is no longer attainable. Even a small touch and error can result in your ball careening off the green. Later courses, especially the final of the six in the game, offer greens that penalize you for so much as putting an inch too far to the left or right. Greens are ridiculously sloped, and they do not have much room for error. I must begin by saying that putting and the greens are tremendously challenging, and not so much in a good way. Oh my goodness, is this game fun! And oh my goodness, is this game hard! My first trip to the links is none other than Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational on the PlayStation Vita. The announcement of Super Rush made me interested in going back to past arcade golf games I enjoyed to see if they still hold up. Was hoping the Switch would be the opportunity for one, and lo and behold, Mario Golf: Super Rush was announced during the most recent Nintendo Direct! I absolutely love the series, and I was amazed by the quality of the Nintendo 3DS's entry, World Tour, so much so that it's my favorite arcade golf game of all time. Hello, all! One of my most desired games that I have wanted to get announced for the longest time was a new console Mario Golf. RTTL = Returning to the links, in this case! :)
